Location: The Lung Health Foundation is based in Toronto and operates in a hybrid model, in which staff are required to work at the office a minimum of two days each week with occasional travel within Ontario and across Canada as required. 
Salary range: $70,000 - $76,000

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Lung Health Foundation is expanding its work with youth across Canada—and we’re seeking a motivated, organized, and equity-minded Manager, Nicotine Cessation & Programs to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Nicotine Cessation & Programs, this position plays a key supporting role in the delivery and growth of LHF’s youth-facing initiatives, with a focus on vaping and smoking cessation, prevention, and lung health promotion. The Manager will help support and implement programming across jurisdictions, foster meaningful community partnerships, and engage youth in inclusive and creative ways.

Key areas of focus include:
  • Supporting the design, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives and programs as it relates to nicotine cessation programs and resources
  • Supporting Quash program implementation across multiple jurisdictions, including workshops, outreach campaigns, and digital strategies tailored to youth aged 14–30.
  • Promoting nicotine cessation messaging by helping develop and deliver age-appropriate, inclusive, and culturally relevant content that raises awareness and encourages quitting.
  • Engaging diverse stakeholders—including public health professionals, educators, policymakers, and youth with lived experience—to inform program design and foster trusted, community-based initiatives.
  • Contributing to evidence-informed delivery and evaluation, including tracking key metrics, gathering feedback, and supporting the development of evaluation tools and reports.
  • Embedding equity and anti-oppression principles throughout youth programming to ensure initiatives reflect the lived experiences of marginalized youth and align with LHF’s broader advocacy goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Programmatic Support and Project Management
The Manager will oversee the delivery of nicotine cessation programs and resources, including Quash, across Canada by:
  • Driving quality improvement efforts by independently developing, updating, and ensuring the accuracy of all program materials.
  • Designing and delivering educational workshops to youth (ages 14–30), educators, and service providers, adapting content to meet diverse needs
  • Leading implementation and providing expert guidance to Quash program facilitators, ensuring fidelity to program models and best practices.
  • Owning and maintaining key tracking systems for youth program metrics and engagement using CRM tools.
  • Developing templates, slide decks, and collateral to support program delivery and impact reporting.
  • Managing and executing project planning, tracking milestones, and coordinating internal and external contributors
  • Proactively identifying and addressing risks, challenges, and barriers, making recommendations and implementing solutions to keep projects on track.

Outreach & Partnerships
  • Builds and sustains strong relationships with stakeholders including healthcare professionals, people with lived experience, youth who smoke and/or vape, family members, caregivers, and other key partners—to inform and advance program design
  • Develops and manages partnerships with schools, youth service providers, and community organizations across Canada to expand program reach and impact.
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes outreach activities and events, ensuring alignment with program goals and brand standards.
  • Leads the creation and implementation of strategies to engage youth in programming, leveraging outreach, social media, and events while collaborating closely with Marketing and Communications teams.
  • Oversees and contributes to the development of high-quality grant applications and conference submissions to support program growth and visibility.
  • Curates and distributes content for the Quash Community of Practice (e.g., newsletters, news updates, research highlights) to foster engagement and knowledge exchange among members.

Program Evaluation and Design
The Manager will help ensure LHF nicotine prevention and cessation programs and resources are grounded in evidence. Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate program performance
  • Managing outcome measurement processes and driving continuous improvement initiatives based on findings
  • Developing evidence-informed recommendations that shape the design and evolution of youth programs.
  • Embedding a health equity lens into all program design and evaluation activities to ensure culturally safe, inclusive, and accessible programs for equity-deserving populations.
  • Integrating anti-oppression frameworks and the social determinants of health into all stages of program planning and delivery.
  • Directing the program design elements of the business planning process to set priorities and guide strategic direction.

Lung Health Foundation Champion
  • Contribute to additional programs or initiatives based on emerging priorities
  • Help grow and maintain LHF’s network of clinical and community partners
  • Support cross-functional duties aligned with organizational goals
  • Assist in external communications and advocacy efforts, including media engagement in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications team

 QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • A degree in public health, health sciences, life sciences, or a related field is required.
  • At least 4 years of experience in:
  • Health promotion, or public health program delivery
  • Youth engagement and health promotion program delivery
  • Stakeholder engagement and/or co-design
  • Experience working in respiratory health, primary care, or health systems is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of evidence-based practice, quality standards, and patient-centered care.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), event platforms (e.g., Cvent), or survey software is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
